I actually like how small this place is. My first time there I got seated right away on a Friday evening, though I can see how it would get busy enough to cause a wait. I'm sure it's worth it regardless. I ordered the vegetarian ghallaba sandwich and the husb ordered the meat schwarma, all which included the delicious bread and garlic. And as always, baklava!

Very similar to the other La Marsa I've been to while visiting the greater Detroit area. Unique and tasty garlic paste. The bread was good and falafel sandwiches were nice. The smoothie I had well... tasted like most other smoothies. Kind of expensive for what it was... Good place, overall. Oh, this location is a LOT smaller than the other one.

I love the lunch specials here. This is my second time and the food is excellent. We've tried the lentil and chicken vegetable soup, garlic paste, pita bread (so fresh and hot!!!), Fattoush salad with chicken, chicken shawarma sandwiches, etc. It's all very good. The place is small and gets busy around lunchtime so be aware of that if you're short on time. The parking lot is little too.

Their sampler for two could feed our family of four, and we would still have leftovers! Amazing value for amazing food. Great service only enhances the dining experience. My favorite has to be the pita and garlic. Breath will stink for a long time, but it's totally worth it!

We're Egyptian so we're not usually impressed with mediocre Middle Eastern food. This place is delicious!!! Fresh brick-oven pita is served with a delicious garlic sauce while you're waiting. Wa had the lamb platter, with a green salad which was delicious and huge. The platter is easily a portion for two. The kafta kabab was very well seasoned and very moist. The meat pies are very tender, flavors are very aromatic. The stuffed grape leaves, which are usually awful at most Mediterranean restaurants, were warm, tightly rolled, and stuffed with beef...delicious! The owner came out to check on each table. He was very pleasant and genuinely cared to ensure that each customer was fully satisfied. Our waitress was also very pleasant and attentive. Overall, a great atmosphere and wonderful place to have a Mediterranean lunch or dinner.

FILTHY AND RUDE. The place is fillthy full of flies, the patio/entrance is falling apart and dangerous, and the manager was rude and obnoxious. One can only imagine the neglect and unsanitary conditions in the kitchen. Do yourself a favor and go to the bloomfield location where they treat you like a paying guest and take pride in their appearance and customer service.

The lunch specials are a great deal. The salad is large. They also have great pits and garlic dip.

This is my favorite La Marsa location - it is delicious and consistent! They have a gluten free menu available (just ask) which is so perfect for me. From the juices to the traditional dishes, I have enjoyed everything I have had...and everyone else seems to enjoy what they get as well. Favorites include Cobra juice, Hommous with Chicken (gluten free - ask for sliced cucumbers to dip), Crushed Lentil Soup (use the lemon!), and Mousaka. People rave about the bread and if it is half as good as it smells I'm sure it's truly amazing. We do a lot of take out from here and the service is always great, the food is well packaged and hot. When we dine in, the service is again wonderful and the food is spot on. You can't go wrong with this La Marsa!

The best Mediterranean food I've had. The warm pitas served with garlic spread started the meal off on a positive note. I ordered the lamb chops and my date ordered boneless chicken. We both opted for salads to accompany our meals. We expected salads served in a small bowl yet what was served were large and on plates. Once I saw the salad I was satisfied with not ordering an appetizer beforehand. The salad, pitas and garlic spread would make a great lunch or dinner alone. The lamb chops were perfect - medium well and delicious. Served with a large amount of almond rice I was more than satisfied. There was no need to add pepper or salt - the meat was simply perfect. My date said that the chicken was the best she ever had and would definitely be back as well as I.

The Yelpers don't disappoint! We were visiting Dearborn for the weekend and couldn't wait for some great food. My husband picked this based on the Yelp reviews and it was a complete winner. Great service, beautiful dining room and the food was top notch. I'm still thinking about the David Basha...

Of all the Middle Eastern restaurants I have visited, and believe me I have visited many, La Marsa (on Middlebelt in Farmington Hills) makes the BEST Dressing, Garlic Paste and Oven Baked Bread. And the menu selections are superb! This visit I had the Chicken Shwarma sandwich and a side of rice. Delish!!!

So you're probably thinking you can skip this place and buy grocery store hummus, etc., right? Wrong. La Marsa's hummus is the best we've had -- it's creamy, lemony, and is delicious heaped atop their fresh pita. Their chicken shawarma is fantastic (the chicken is always tender, yet perfectly charred), the garlic sauce is killer, and their fattoush/rice almond salad is beyond tasty. I can make a mean salad dressing, but nothing compares to their vinaigrette! It's downright addictive (I shouldn't actually DRINK the dressing, right?)... And the carryout service is top-notch. Whether called in ahead of time or ordered directly at the counter, we've never had to wait long (if at all). Skip the greasy fast food and order from La Marsa instead!

YUM! I ate lunch here today, and it was wonderful! I've been in the Detroit area on business off and on since January, and today is my birthday. I wanted to have a special lunch since I am away from home, and La Marsa did not disappoint. I had the cracked lentil soup, moussaka, rice pilaf, and pita with garlc spread. The pita is sooooo good! The cracked lentil soup is the best I've had, and the other reviewers who say to be sure to use the lemon wedges that come with it are exactly right---they enhance the lemony flavor! The moussaka portion was enormous, as was the portion of rice pilaf. All are homemade, and I had enough to bring back for another meal. I also got baklava to take with me, and it was good. (Of course, I had to wait to have the baklava later since I was stuffed when I left. :) ) The staff were polite, pleasant, and efficient. I'll be back! Casual, cozy, and clean.

For being outside the Dearborn area, this is a solid Middle Eastern restaurant. Their hummous is light, fluffy and very tasty, and hummous is one of the tests of a restaurant for me. If it has the consistency of wallpaper paste, I am rarely pleased with the rest of the menu. This restaurant passed the test with a light, airy dish that may have been a touch over-salted last time, but very tasty, nonetheless. Their bread is fresh and delicious and they are generous with it, whether you eat in our get carry out and they serve it with a lovely side of toum/garlic sauce that is very strong and satisfying. Their rice is tender and buttery, which makes it a perfect accompaniment to their rich ghellaba or other entrees. My only disappointment was with my last carry out order; the tabbouleh had mushy tomatoes and brown, old tasting green onions. I was pleased with the rest of my meal, but I really hope that was just a bad day for that one dish. I will definitely order from them again and find their carry out to be fast and convenient.

Convenient location, small restaurant with a small parking lot. I went here with a friend for lunch and was delighted to see that they had lunch specials which were reasonably priced. My friend was allergic to peanuts and almonds as well as gluten-free. The waiter handed her the gluten-free menu and offered to bring out a plate of vegetables instead of pita to have with the garlic sauce - that was very nice of him. I ordered the Kafta special for 7.99 which included two kaftas (chicken and lamb) with a side of fries, rice or veggies and it comes with a soup or salad. My friend ordered the beef and hummus with a side of veggies and a soup for 10.99. Needless to say, we were very full only halfway through our plates. The food wasn't spectacular or special - it was good for the price and the portions were large.

I continue to go back to La Marsa and I am never disappointed. We had a young male server last time I went with my son and the service was impeccable. I was blown away with how attentive and super nice he was. They really took care of us! The food is so amazing, and maybe I am partial now- but it seems to get better and better! We also were given fresh pita bread when we boxed up our huge portions to bring home. LaMarsa is a gem- and here's a good tip- this location is a lot better than the one on grand river in Farmington and worth the trip of you are in the area anyhow. Thanks La Marsa!

My wife and I come here so often I should have my own table. We meet our family here at least once a week! They love it as well. Service is great and has never let us down. Wish the place was a touch bigger as we do often wait to sit and eat this awesomeness!

I'm starting to think I"m quite a biased person. Oh, who am I kidding. I'm totally biased. If La Marsa was a little farther from where I live, it would definitely merit a 3 star, but since I live just over a mile from there, and have found myself going there quite frequently, I think they definitely merit 4 stars. Their food is generally excellent. And just like other Mediterranean restaurants, the bread. Oh~ the BREAD!!!! Is excellent. As is their over garlicy garlic butter. I mean could they loud it up with more raw garlic please? I know I sound sarcastic but I'm not. I'm being totally real. My dish of choice is the chicken suatee with the lime and cilantro sauce. It is excellent, and goes well with the rice. The servers are generally quite friendly and if you start showing your face there enough they bring you a piece of baklava at the end of your meal. So nice of them :) It is a relatively small space with maybe a dozen tables or so, but I've never seen them completely full up and I've been there about 10 times at varying hours. There is another La Marsa a couple miles from them so just make sure you're going to the right one if you're ordering take out. But don't worry, they'll check that you have the right one. 'The one on Middlebelt!'

I was pretty happy with this location until they had their 1 year anniversary. They had a kick a$$ deal of 40% off and free dessert! Woohoo!!! My Dutch card was earning a gold star tonight! I tried calling, repeatedly, for over 20 minutes. Hmmm, I guess everyone else wanted this amazing deal. Crap. I went ahead and continued to call while I drove over there. The line was out the door. Ugh. Finally was able to order while waiting in line. 45 minute wait time. Ok, Target here I come! I got the food home and realized there was no free dessert, we got 6 small pitas for our large order of hummus and quart of soup. Grrrr. That sucks! I didn't sweat it. But what turned this dinner further south was the garlic! Holy crap Batman! My falafel sandwich was never ben garlickier! Seriously, I smelled garlic on my breath for 3 days. Not so sexy. BUT they do make a pretty awesome rice almond salad and lentil soup!

I love the chicken schwarma here. Try it either as a sandwich, a meal, or as a schwarma and hummus meal. All of them are good eats. The flat bread and garlic sauce is super tasty. My wife loves the chicken tawook and the lamb chili. All of the sandwiches are cheap ($), but the dinners are moderate ($$). The service is usually very good. The waitress is very nice and attentive.

I'm trying to be good about catching up with reviews and especially reviewing places that I love. I have not been to La Marsa in a year but there always used to be some coupons for discounts (pretty much every week) in the paper so for a year we'd stop in every 3-4 months. They always had outstanding bread, hummus, vegetarian platters and delicious juices. The portions were huge and we'd always have enough food to bring back for a meal or two. While it was never very busy, I loved the ambience too. I am not great at describing that, but it was an open and modern feel to the interior with beautiful table settings and lighting that was appropriate for the setting with plenty of space between tables. Probably the first 3 times, I would have given La Marsa a 5 but then portions seemed to get a bit smaller and service a little more rushed (even when it was not busy). It has to be hard to succeed in the business so I can't really criticize anything too much. I will return soon and update my rating if it needs to be changed. I'm posting this because I hope that all of you Yelpers go out and give it a try as the food is top notch.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The salad was huge, and fresh with a light but flavorful dressing. The hummus was fresh and creamy, not thick or clumpy at all. I ordered the Mousaka with meat and it was a big portion with lots of lamb added, not just one scoop. The menu is a little pricey, but we had a coupon so it didn't really matter, and my wife and I both have enough for lunch tomorrow.

The hommous with chicken ghallaba is fantastic here. Definitely worth the price and we always have tons left over even when splitting the dish. The garlic sauce and brick oven fresh baked pita bread is another plus in la Marsa's favor.
